Our
idea for the machine basically consists of a spring that will throw all six of
our birdies at the same time. The spring will be set on a timed basis and will
have to be held with an elastic that will be set off with a timer after
manually pressing the trigger before beginning the movement of the object. The
birdies will each be placed in different positions of height and angle on the
machine so that they will be propelled with the correct displacement and velocity
to ensure that they will each land in their according area. For the machine to
set its self in it’s position, we would like to have it use an instantaneous blast
of energy from an electric motor that will also be manually activated at the
start. This motor will give our machine enough energy to overcome the force of
friction and resistance from our machine and cut out right away after, so that
does two forces then make it slow down to it’s required position. We would like
to fabricate our machine with the help of materials like cardboard for the
chassis and want to 3D print the four wheels. We also plan on using an electric
engine charged with a lithium ion battery, wooden suspensions to reduce
friction and make them stronger, a spring and elastics. We will also need to
construct an electric circuit.
